Fun Facts Friday - Big Secret

Workout Shakeup (or shift)
Today I was itching to do weights even knowing that it'll be the insane high rep workout (2 sets of 18 reps). Guess that's what a good rest day will do for you. But, I'll behave myself and wait until tomorrow.

I feel like I don't have too much to talk about since I'm not posting weights. My cardio will be a run, so that's not too exciting...or...it could be. I won't be running at lunch, it'll be after work. Yep, after work on a Friday?! What, no happy hour, no pizza, but a run. Serious crazy talk I know ;-)

My sister is coming up to stay the night though. Very excited about that and should have pictures to post tomorrow.

Fun Facts Friday
So, I suppose I'll do Fun Facts Friday again. It seems like everyone enjoyed it, and I really enjoyed your fun facts (that's a hint to play along of course).
  1. I have a bizarre fear of wearing dresses (I wear them mind you) for fear that I'll come out of the bathroom with the back tucked into my undies. I'm seriously tempted to wear shorts with dresses (I actually did that in junior high).

  2. A photograph of my legs used to hang in the women's restroom of a high-end French restaurant in town. The owner also dabbled in photography and took some ballet pictures, one of the tutu down. Only I knew that it was my legs LOL.

  3. I'm running a 5K tonight! It's the 3rd Annual MacArthur Park 5K. Yep, that's why no Pizza Friday or earlier workout. My sister is running too (this will be her first attempt at running a race). There will be beer, pizza, and a band following, but no veggie pizza worth indulging in. I'll be posting results tomorrow.
Here  are my new duds including running glasses
    So, now it's your turn!

    Comments

    1. I used to wear shorts under my dresses in elementary school. My mom didn't like it, but all my friends did it so I wanted to too. LOL

Good luck with the race tomorrow! Can't wait to hear all about it!

    2. I hate to feed your fear but I did have the skirt tucked in problem one time. After that I was much more careful. ;-) Thankfully my hubby noticed before I had gone more than two steps out of the ladies room. Talk about mortified. Oh yeah, and it was when we had just started dating. Nothing like making a good first impression. LOL.

      Fun Facts Friday again....

      1) I don't like to exercise but do it anyway because I know it is good for me.

      2) I have an almost irrational fear of aging. Needless to say my impending birthday is not something I am looking forward to. ;-)

      3) If I could move anywhere I would go to Italy. It is the place I feel most at home other than the US.

Good luck tonight! I will be thinking about you.

I love it - another similarity, I got my sis into running while she was going through her divorce too. It's been a huge bonding thing for us, but I'm sure you knew that already. ;) Have fun at the race - you will rock it! You are super-duper fast as it is! At least in my book :)

Fun Fact about me: I grew up clogging. My competitive clogging team once went on a cruise (for FREE) to perform as the entertainment on the ship!! :)

    8. Hey Doll! This is a great post :) Hahaha, I totally know what you are talking about that dress issue! I used to wear shorts under mine too. Skits are weird because there is nothing there but your undies! That is really too close if something was too happen ;)

Have a great night! I bet you did great on the race!

    I Run to Feel Alive

Today is National Running Day . Guess what I did this morning? Cycling? Nope. Lifting? Nope. I bet you thought kickboxing right? Nope. Running? But of course! I actually sort of planned my running days this week just so I could participate this year. I didn't get to run last year and didn't even know about it the year before. But running has become such an integral part of my life and who I am, that I couldn't miss this year. Basically, I run to feel alive . It calms me, it helps me work through life, it's often a reason to get out of bed. No matter how tough a run is, it makes you feel ... period. My plan was to get in 5 miles (got in 5.5 actually). It was about 10 degrees warmer this morning and definitely more humid. That always makes for a tougher run. We decided to take a different route today. Well, it was really only a few streets over different, but still. The point is we took a different street. Sometimes that's good, sometimes not. I did realize th

Vacation Day 2 - Running, Reading, Relaxing

Running This morning I woke up a bit before 7 am. Of course, we had gone to sleep by 9....on vacation no less. I had thought I might try for an outdoor run, but the temps were already a humid 83 degrees by 8 am. So, I took my run to the treadmill. I had the Food Network to keep me occupied for a pretty decent 5 mile run. Running and watching tv isn't so bad ;-) I did 3 miles, then 4 1:00 athletic intervals then finished up another mile to round it out to and even 5. After stretching and rolling (yep, brought my TriggerPoint kit ), we packed up the cooler with lunch and headed down to the beach. Not a bad way to start the day if you ask me. Beach Time & Stair Cardio We set up our little umbrella camp and proceeded to just relax. I was excited to start one of the books I brought along with me: Alice Sebold's The Almost Moon . I've read her memoir, Lucky , and her first work of fiction, The Lovely Bones . . We were out for a few hours before taking a break.
