Fun for Friday - #MoveEatLive

Happy Friday! I've been a bit MIA this week where it comes to blogging. I guess I'm experiencing a bit of writer's block. I am also feeling a bit out of sorts as to where to take my blog these days. I began the blog on a whim with no real knowledge of blogging - I didn't really even read many blogs at that time. I wrote about what I ate and my workouts each day. After two years of basically recording every.single.dinner I realized I had put silly pressure on myself to A) 365 days a year, B) record every dinner with a photo and often recipe, C) record every single workout, D) respond to every comment. Slowly I started to allow myself to not post on the weekends (crazy talk right?). I stopped posting every dinner and every workout. Guess what? I still had my amazing friends showing up to read and comment. Phew. Last year I passed my certifications to become a Personal Trainer and Running Coach . Since that time, I have tried to get a new business off the ground -...

A New Year of Hope Plus Personal Training Discount

It's really hard to believe it's already a new year. 2013 seems like a blur right now. In looking back at my New Year's post from last year, I think I fully embraced my word: Change . I don't intend on letting go of that word. I'll just add it into my vocabulary for this upcoming year. I don't set out specific goals or resolutions. But I love the idea of giving myself a word for the year. Last year was going to be a year of change one way or another (I mean, every day is change if you want to be honest), and I wanted to remind myself that change can be a good thing. I think it's important to embrace it rather than fight it. In 2012, I set out to live fuller. I think Change goes well with Living Fuller and this year I want to expand on those ideas. I think Hope will be my word for the year. Hope ... To wish for something with expectation of its fulfillment. To have confidence; trust. To look forward to with confidence or expectation. We hope t...

Happy as I Want to Be

What I love most about blogging is the inspiration. There are some really amazing people out there. Humble, beautiful, inspirational. I was lucky enough to meet one of them this past weekend. And this week, I've seen some wonderful posts that I wanted to share and talk about. Christine at Love Life Surf had a wonderful post about those shaky feelings of uncertainty when you step out and follow your heart and passions and about finding a "new equilibrium." Bonnie at Life to the Full  stated this: You're only as ______ as you want to be. I loved that, it puts responsibility back on ourselves and makes us ask those tougher questions about how hard we're working or even if it's worth working THAT hard. What's more important in our lives. Right now I want to be happy so I make that choice. That all brings me to this image I pinned Source So I might want lots of other things in my life. But if I don't stop and take the time to enjoy and appr...

Fun for Friday - Knocking Down Fear

I usually try to keep Fun for Friday posts light and fun. Today, I saw this pin and it sort of changed my thought process. This past year I vowed to live fuller, to take risks, make changes. I would say go big or go home, but I'm taking baby steps on that. I typically let fear hold me back. Fear of failure is a big one; fear of the unknown is then next one for me. My dreams of being a personal trainer elicit both of those fears in a major way. What if I fail my client? I'm not just putting together meals and workouts for myself. This is someone's life, their goals, their health. There's also the unknown about starting a new venture. Will it work, will it be too mush stress and pressure ( I'm not quitting my day job ). Is this just too much to take on. All unknowns until I try right? If I keep letting fear hold me back, then I'll never have the future I want. So, today, I'm officially announcing that I've started my own personal training busin...
