Spin Class & Comfort Meal Veganized

Spin Class Today I had packed my gym bag for either running, spinning, or lifting. I really wasn't sure what I wanted to do actually. My piriformis is bothering me, not quite the sciatic nerve pain at least, but definitely not how I want it to feel for running. So, I decided running might not be the smartest workout for the day. I decided to go with spin. Yes, spin probably doesn't sound like an ideal workout a few days after a half marathon, but it actually was a great choice. At first, my quads revolted against me. I swear they laughed when the instructor said to turn up the tension. But after about 10 minutes, they really did loosen up and it ended up being a great sweatfest workout, especially staring out the windows enjoying the nice views on a gorgeous day. I'll admit that it was really hard to justify working out indoors on another perfect fall day. Too bad we can't just drag the spin bikes outside for a class when it's nice...But, I need to get back ...

Plan B Kind of Day

Plan B - Rest Day Well, let me just say this, those hill repeats seriously kicked my ass (and quads). Yowzers. My legs feel like lead today. I feel like I did nothing but a million squats yesterday. All good though. It just meant that today was my rest day rather than tomorrow. I can bend a little, especially when there was no way I was doing anything that involved working my legs ;-) Oddly enough, however, I woke up wide-eyed (not exactly bushy-tailed) at 5:26, which is when I have been getting up to go run. Apparently my brain missed the "rest day" memo. Do you ever have those days when you know it is going to be a mandatory rest day, but part of your body or mind is still thinking you should be working out? Maybe it's just because it's habit. I have to say, when I don't post a workout, I feel like my posts are insanely short. But, short isn't always a bad thing right? Better than unnecessary rambling (which I'm beginning to do). Plan B - Quorn Pi...

Wowzer Wednesday

Early Morning Kickboxing  This morning Jason got up to go swim at 5 am. I was too much awake to fall back asleep for an hour, so I went ahead and got up to exercise. I did Cathe's Kick, Punch and Crunch plus the stability ball abs (awesome ab work). It was a nice workout that gave me the needed boost of energy to start my day. What a Wednesday Oh and I definitely needed the energy. It was a very hectic and stressful kind of morning. I have some work projects that are a bit problematic; I've also been having major email issues at work too so that complicates it all even more. Oh gotta love technology right? To top it off, we paid the remaining balance on our condo rental yesterday. I got confirmation this morning, but the contract was for the wrong dates! We had both asked off from work   already, made doggy sitting arrangements, etc. to be gone June 5-12. The contract said June 12-19. So, I had a mild (ok more than mild) panic attack and near meltdown. Thankfully, the ...

2 Workouts & Vegan Take on Meat & Potatoes Dinner

2 on Tuesday  I had every intention of getting up this morning for a "get myself moving" kickboxing workout with abs. However, that did not happen. I just felt so worn out, so I slept another hour. I seriously think that I am just not destined to morning workouts. You'd think I was going to bed really late. But, that's not the case. I'm typically in bed reading by 8:30 and lights out by 9:30. Sigh. Anyway, I was feeling super fatigued most of the morning to be honest. I did take a Zyrtec for the sinus drainage so that might be part of the cause. Sinuses are still drippy though so it's obviously not doing the job. Anyway, Jason and I did get in a lunchtime run. I really almost backed out. But, I think it was the energy boost I desperately needed. It got me moving for starters. I spend my entire day sitting at a desk in front of a computer, most certainly not an energy boost (actually quite the opposite). It was super windy, and not quite 60 degrees when we s...
