Working Out & Relaxing Plus Sunday Fashion

Weights & Tabata  This morning started off cold again, but quickly warmed up. It was a beautiful, sunny day with temps hitting 70 degrees. Absolutely perfect if you ask me. Jason and I headed to the gym around 11, a little later than I had hoped, but it's Sunday so no worries. I went with shoulders, back, chest today. I ended up having to rearrange my workout a little bit because Jason was using the barbell I needed. But it all worked out, and I got in a good weight workout. I did supersets of 3x8 unless noted. SS#1 Arnold press Wide-grip assisted chinups Flat bench dumbbell chest press SS#2 Lateral raise Underhand barbell rows -7 reps because I increased weight Pushups with toes on bench - 10 reps SS#3 Front raise Single-arm rows Staggered chest press I followed up the workout with 3 rounds of tabata trying to engage the muscle groups I had just worked. For the tabata you do 20 seconds of each exercise followed by 10 seconds rest. After you complete all 8 e...

Weights, Tabata & BBQ Tofu

Weights & Tabata  Today I had to do my workout after work. We had a birthday lunch celebration for my boss. I used to workout exclusively after work. It's kind of funny how you can really get used to working out at a certain time of the day. Anything other than that time and you're sort of thrown off. Or I am anyway. Not only are you more fatigued by the end of the day, you don't know anyone up at the gym at that time! They're looking at you like you're a newbie and you're looking at them like they must be. All I know is I want my little area and that's it. I started off with 10 minutes easy on the elliptical to get warmed up. Then I went with back, shoulders, and chest for today. I almost did legs, but decided to hold off and do those tomorrow Pin It Pin It * Kettlebell squat pulls (but not hopping up on toes, couldn't find a better example sadly) ** Up/down plank (last exercise shown) I did the ta...

Weights, Run & Day With Friends

Weights & Easy Run This morning I woke up way earlier than I'd have liked on a Saturday, especially when I wasn't going out for a long run. I will say, it felt strange not getting prepped for a 12-miler, almost depressing in a way. My legs were still feeling really tight, not wanting to move for me. Good thing the 12-miler wasn't today huh? I didn't want to go to the gym so early, so I got some house chores done like laundry, sweeping, mopping. After procrastinating with chores, I finally headed to the gym around 8:45. My weight plan was to hit back, chest, shoulders and abs. I did start out with about 10 minutes on the elliptical to test my legs and to warm up. Then I went with trisets of 3x8: TS#1 Underhand barbell row Arnold press Flat bench chest press TS#2 Pullovers Lateral raise Flat bench chest flyes TS#3 Double-arm rows Incline rear delt flye Incline chest press I did some ab work and stretched for a bit before heading home. When I got ...
