Etsy Is Up! Oh, and a Good Run

Running  Well, I had high hopes for being super productive today. Alas, I was mostly lazy. I actually stayed in PJs until noon today. Not one lick of guilt either, other than I should have been taking care of a few chores. I did start to clean out one cabinet. Tossed a bunch of old crap that had been hiding out for who knows how long. The half marathon training plan called for a 4-mile run today. I had really hoped to do chest and abs early then later get in the run. Nope, no weights, no abs. But I did get in the run. It was gorgeous today, windy like crazy, but sunny at least. It was about 40 degrees when we hit the Big Dam Bridge for our run. I actually finally had a really good (mentally) run today. I felt back on track and that felt great. I made it a point to stretch longer today and spend more time rolling out any and all kinks with the TriggerPoint Therapy Kit because tomorrow's run calls for a 6-7 miler. I am worried only because I haven't run two days in a row si...

Rest Day = More Creative Dinner

Rest Day As much as I didn't want to, I ended up having to declare today a rest day. I felt so run down and worn out today. I didn't have any weight work on tap, just cardio and I just couldn't muster the energy to even think about cardio. I knew that a workout just wouldn't be smart. First off, it would likely have been a bad workout session because I'm fatigued and heart isn't in it and second, I think it would have made tomorrow's planned run much harder (and quite possibly done more harm to IT band issues). I had wanted to take Friday as my rest day as the half marathon training plan calls for a run both Saturday and Sunday. But, I have to listen to my body and do what is right for today and take the next day as it comes. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be re-energized. Kitchen Time Since I had more time after work to spend on dinner, I decided to try something new. I've been feeling a bit uninspired in the kitchen, other than crockpot creations, s...

Riding Motivation Wave

Wavering on Workouts I was wavering on what to do today. I sort of wanted to take today as a rest day, but would prefer to take it on Friday. I ended up going with Shoulders and Triceps from STS Week 1 of Meso 3 during lunch. Exercises are done as supersets of 4x8 at 80% of 1RM. Warmup Set Standing front press - 12 SS#1 Standing front press Flat bench triceps extensions SS#2 Seated lateral raise Seated overhead single-arm extensions SS#3 Seated rear delt flyes Double-arm kickbacks (in lieu of lying cross-body kickbacks) I will admit that I've been having min-panic attacks thinking about the upcoming half marathon in March. Since I haven't been able to run like I was, and am on no plan at all, it has me worried. Today I found a plan at Runner's World   and started it. It's a 9 week plan that not only includes adding mileage, but intervals and speed work. That appeals to me as I know I am going to have to work on pace as well as the endurance. I think...
