Weekend Recap - Lake Time, Running & Riding

Show of hands if your weekend went by too quickly!!! I know mine sure did. It was busy, but good. Saturday morning I laced up my new kicks - Mizuno Wave Rider 16's - and set out for a run. I'll admit that I ran a mile more than I had planned. It was mostly because I miscalculated the distance on the route I chose. I quickly got cleaned up and we headed to the lake to spend time with the family. It wasn't a super sunny day, but sometimes that's ok. It definitely helped keep the temperatures down. The rest of the day was fairly lazy. That's not a bad thing at all. We made up for it on Sunday though. We went for a short bike ride than what we've been doing. We had to meet up with a friend, so time was a little restricted. We had errands to run then a late lunch before heading home and tackling the home office. We found a table on the side of the road Friday morning, so we set that up and started clearing out TONS of crap that's just accumulated ...

Full Weekend of Family & Friends Time

Full Saturday  Well, this weekend was a full one. I feel like it was almost non-existent because it was so busy, but in a good way of course. Saturday morning started at 7 am with a 4.5 mile run with Jason. It was a pretty good run, though really hot already. We had to rush after the run to get cleaned up and head to the lake to meet the family. We got in some skiing. The kids weren't into any water activities this weekend for whatever reason. I was lazy and didn't even pull out the camera to get pictures of the adults skiing. I will say that my legs and body were shaking like crazy after skiing. I swear I felt so out of shape like I've never worked out a day in my life. Apparently skiing muscles are a whole different set of muscles than I ever use or work! After the lake we had to get home and try to straighten up the house a bit before our guest arrived. A dear friend of mine was staying the night. She lives in Virginia now, so we don't get the chance to hang...

Work Hard. Relax Hard. Enjoying the Weekend

One Busy Saturday It's been another great weekend. I can't believe it's almost over. How does that happen so quickly? Yesterday was a lot of fun, but really really busy. We literally hit the ground running at 7:15 am and didn't stop until we got home at 8:30 that evening. We got up and set out for a run early, but not painfully early for a Saturday. The plan was to do 4-4.5 fairly easy miles. What happened was the first mile was a 9:30 and the second one was 8:50. Um, clearly not the easy run I was going for. We sort of slowed it down a little, but the average still ended up being around a 9:10 pace. It sort of set the tone for the day I suppose - go go go. After the run we quickly cleaned up, packed up and headed out the door. We did have to make a stop at Dempsey's Bakery for Jason's mom. She can't have gluten, and really loves their bread. Since we were going to be making a stop by their house, Jason wanted to get some bread for her. The first st...

Branson Days 1 and 2 - Eating, Boating, Relaxing

Thursday Night - Branson Day 1 Than you everyone for your kind words on the Fun Facts Friday - Anniversary post! My internet is sketchy so replying to everyone is more difficult than usual. In fact, posting, blogging, anything is more difficult. Thursday night we arrived in Branson, MO later than we had hoped because of extremely backed up traffic heading out of town. It took almost an hour to get to a town that usually takes 30 minutes. Good times my friends. Thank goodness I had my purse loaded up with protein and granola bars. I'm like a Girl Scout I swear. People make fun of how much I carry in my purse, but they will never starve, have bad breath, have a headache, migraine, messed up fingernail, get wet, or need a tissue ;-) Anyway, we got our bags dropped off and cooler unloaded and headed to Ruby Tuesdays for dinner. It's close by and we know that I can eat from the salad bar. And I pigged out! I started with a Skinny Lavender Lemon Drop Martini. It was really quit...
