Mesh Tank & Celebrating Winesday

Trying Out Mesh This morning I went ahead and got myself up and out of bed when Jason got up to go to his morning master's swim class. My plan was to get in 3-4 miles. At 5:30 it's still completely dark out, so I did hedge around until about 5:35 so that it would at least start getting light earlier into my run rather than right at the end (if that made any sense). I tried out my new Brooks Running D'Lite Micro Mesh Racerback . Normally I just wear a sports bra and shorts, but I wanted to try to find something I could wear when running solo that wasn't hot and was vibrant so I could be seen. This shirt fits the bill. It's mesh, as in mesh mesh, totally see through. However, you get the feeling of some coverage rather than just bare skin. Since it is mesh, the air flows right through it almost as if you were running without the top (almost, because it was sticking to me by the end). And, I think it's a good safety measure for being more visible in the dark...

Happy Running. Happy Hour.

Happy Running Today Jason and I set out for another 3.5 mile run at lunch. The sun was out and so was the wind. Thankfully it helped keep it cooler, but it made running one particular direction a pain in the butt (literally for me LOL). The first mile we clocked at 8:48 and then steadily increased for negative splits of 8:34 and 8:17. I forgot to lap the last half mile though, but the total average pace was 8:33. Not too shabby. In fact, I'm really proud of that. And you know what, it wasn't that painful. I mean, it wasn't easy breezy; I wasn't chit chatting that's for sure. I definitely worked for the speed and had to really concentrate on not giving in. But it felt much better, much more my natural pace again. So that made me one happy runner girl today. Of course, I could attempt the same thing Saturday and be ...

An Amazing Weekend With Amazing Friends

Hi, my name is Heather and I really do blog daily in most cases. My first inclination is to apologize for being absent from blogging these past few days. With the exception of my vlog . But, I stopping myself, because disconnecting was exactly what was needed. Being present and enjoying every moment is what this weekend was all about. Jessica and her husband arrived Saturday at 12:50 and the fun started right away and continued all the way through today. After dropping off luggage, we made our way to the wine store then Whole Foods. Dinner plans were to have a pizza throw down. So we had to pick up just a few ingredients. We dropped everything off back at the house and headed out again. The weather was rather cool and dreary, but not rainy thankfully. We had originally thought we could walk around the River Market area if the weather had been better. Instead we stopped at one of our favorite hangouts, Dugan's. The atmosphere is always relaxed and cozy. It was the perfect plac...
