Memorial Weekend Wrap Up

Fireworks Recap I'll try to keep the recap of last night short. I feel like this is a long enough post as it is. We had some VIP passes to watch the Riverfest Fireworks from an observation deck at the Peabody Hotel. The passes also meant free wine and beer and a dessert buffet. Plus, if it rained again, we could still watch the fireworks and stay dry. We got there at about 7:45. While I'm typically not a big dessert fan, I definitely oggled this buffet. Thankfully most of it was chocolate. Why thankfully? I don't care much for chocolate so that meant far less indulging! The fireworks show lasted for a full 30 minutes. Jason was so excited. He seriously loves firework shows, and this is definitely a good one. Sorry the pics aren't very good. We just had the point and shoot with us.   Lifting & Punching This morning I got up and did my leg workout. It was Pyramid Lower Body . The pyramid legs was pretty much like yesterday's upper body, but without supersets ex...

Spring Forward Sunday: Leg Day and Grilled Tempeh Sandwiches

Sunday Leg Day Well with the time change, I woke up already behind for the day. Isn't that a daunting feeling. While I really didn't feel much up to it, I did manage to do my leg workout and then an easy run with Jason and the pups. This was their 2nd true run with us so it was still a little (or lot) herky jerky with lots of sudden stops and de-tangling. Legs were from Cathe's Pyramid Lower Body (sans DVD). It was the same workout I did last Sunday. 12, 10, 8, 10, 12 increasing then decreasing the weight with as little rest in between each rep. Step Ups Static Lunges Squats into Plie Squats Deadlifts Calf Raises(3 sets of 25 reps) Needless to say, the run wasn't going to be a fast or easy one even if we hadn't taken the dogs along with us. My legs were feeling a little heavy and wobbly. Sunless Sunday Today was supposed to have been sunny. Surprise, mostly cloudy. It was at least 5 degrees warmer than yesterday. We had to go to the grocery store after working o...

Productive Sunday & Veggie Pasta Explosion

Sunday Workout Today was the Little Rock Marathon. Part of the route goes right in front of our house. Let's just say it can make you feel just a tad lazy sitting on the computer watching the runners pass by! Jason sat outside and cheered them on, while I got my workout done for the day. I started with Shock Cardio HIIT 30/30 warm up, did Pyramid Lower Body then finished up the HIIT 30/30. My legs are sufficiently fried, and I may not be able to walk tomorrow!  The pyramid legs was pretty much like yesterday's upper body, but without supersets except for squats into plie squats. So you do 12 sets at lightest weight, increase weight, at 10 reps, increase weight for 8 reps, then decrease weight for 10 reps, decrease weight for 12 reps. Step Ups Static Lunges Squats into Plie Squats Deadlifts Calves Sunday Movie Outing After the workout, Jason and I spend several hours doing household chores that we've been putting off. We decided to treat our hard work with a m...
