Rest Day Wednesday
I wanted to really thank everyone for the workout clothing suggestions. I learned of some brands I'd never heard of before and now would feel more comfortable shelling out the money for Lululemon too. I did find it interesting that a few of you are very loyal to a specific brand or two and some don't care as long as it was a great deal. And, apparently I'm one of the only people around who doesn't care for running shorts.
Well, today ended up being a rest day. My legs are worn out and needed a break after the front/back split workouts. Even boxing didn't sound appealing today. That meant standing ;-) So I fitfully dozed after Jason left for swim at 5 am. Actually, I had a pretty crappy night's sleep. I was up 5 different times. I just couldn't seem to get comfy and stay asleep. I think I am starting to get a bit nervous about the Cathe Road Trip next week. I'm going over lists in my head and worrying about all the things we have yet to get planned...like the hotel in Philly for Sunday and Monday nights.
This was the most spontaneous trip I have ever signed up for. I am a planner, this was soooo not planned. And, it's still not planned really. I know it's going to be a blast thought - I just keep reminding myself of that.
Busy Afternoon = Jason Cooking
Anyway, after work I went and indulged myself with a hair cut and a trip to Target. This time I was more successful with workout clothes. I picked up 2 pairs of short and another (black) sports bra. I think I may hit up the other Target in our area to see if they have my size in a particular sports bra that would match one of the pairs of shorts. So, needless to say, I got home a lot later than normal and was STARVING. Thankfully, Jason beat me home and started quesadillas that ended up being Crispy Burritos. The filling was spinach, black beans, tomatoes, red and green bell peppers, fresh jalapenos, onions, and MealStarters Chik'n Strips.
Unfortunately I was out of homemade seitan to use for these. He was going to do veggie burgers, but I am out of those too. Apparently I need to get myself in the kitchen at some point this weekend.

Your freezer sounds like mine at the moment. Seems like I am out of everything right now too. Sounds like a great impromptu dinner to me, BTW. ;-)

I hear ya! I need to stock up my freezer with bean burgers! I always make a great plan to make a lot and freeze them, which I do...and then I eat them!

hey lady i do vaguely remember that home gym post. i dont need tons of stuff, just a few key items. I thought you had a pretty macked out gym (from memory)! Anyway, not having much in the freezer or made up? Enjoy the spontanaeity that comes w/out planning or over thinking things!
ReplyDeleteThat trip looks sweeeeeet! Spontaneous trips are the most adventurous kind. Take lots of pics! I can't wait to hear about it!
ReplyDeleteGlad you found success with your workout wear. Target makes some cute running skorts. I also hit up Walmart for workout capris. My workout clothes never last long, so I usually aim for the affordable kind.
Those burritos look delish! Your man can certainly COOK! :)
Girl, you know I am all over those crispy burritos. I may just have to try and work those in this week:) Gotta love when the husband takes charge and gets it done!
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited for your trip! Sounds like so much fun.
The crispy burritos look awesome! Your trip sounds like it will be so much fun! I swear by Lululemon for workout clothing - a lot of my items I've had for 5+ years!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could come on the trip with you!! I always think i'm a super stepper until I realize there is no way I could talk like Cathe is during the videos :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you and your body enjoyed the rest!
I'm glad you had some good retail therapy! I am a total planner and my road trip has been keeping me up at night. I should be done planning it today with any luk!
ReplyDeleteAlicia @ Vegan Epicurean I don't know how everything just seemed to disappear all at once LOL.
ReplyDeleteSarena @ The Non-Dairy Queen At one point Jason kept complaining about ALL of the veggie burgers stuffed in the freezer, now there's not even a store-brand to be seen. I will definitely post all about the Road Trip!!!
Tanya @ Tanya's Daily Product Reviews I'm going to have to seriously work on re-packing mine ;-)
Jolene @ To Be Determined I'm still blaming it all on you and Jessica by the way ;-)
Kris @ iheartwellness I used to plan very well, now it seems to be whatever goes. Not sure how that happened.
Averie @ Loves Veggies and Yoga No space for a totally macked out gym unfortunately.
Laura @ B Foxy Fitness This trip will be insane I swear. I'll be sure to post the itinerary. He used to be a cook at a French restaurant actually, so he really can cook. LOL
Candice @ ChiaSeedMe It was definitely nice not to have to try to cook b/c I was SOOOO hungry. I was on the verge of being at total bear.
Sarah @ Run Sarah I guess if they last that long then they are definitely worth the extra money. Thanks for letting me know.
April @ The Weigh I Am I wish you could join us - how fun would that be to meet up like that! I am totally expecting to have my butt kicked ;-)
Bela @ It's Life, Max it Out I'm typically the type that prints out a map and plots out everything down to the nearest grocery store. This one is keeping me up b/c I haven't done anything like that. Wow......
Your road trip is going to be so much fun! I can't wait to read all about it!

ReplyDeleteYAY for new workout clothes- oh ya- totally forgot to mention Target- guess other people did :) I love their workout stuff too..and of course Old Navy.
Target does damage on my wallet though- I can never manage to get out of there w/o buying a few things that I had not intended too- haha!!

ReplyDeleteThe wrap combination sounds good!!
Tell Jason to come on over and get started in my kitchen:)

Nichole @ Live for the Run Very good suggestion on where to focus my energy.
Lindsay @ Cotter Crunch Yes, it really is nice to not have to cook all the time.
