No Whimpy Wednesday

Rewind to Tuesday - Taco Bowls
I made a big oops in my dinner post last night. I apologize because I was rushing through and failed to explain the "bowl" part. I actually started making them after reading about how easy they were to make on many other blogs. They are super simple to make and a fun alternative to a burrito or quesadilla.

How to make a Taco Salad Bowl:
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F

Prepare a pyrex bowl (or other oven-safe baking bowl) with a non-stick spray.

Insert your favorite flour tortilla  (I use a whole-wheat variety) and shape - you will have some fluted edges. Bake for approximately 15 minutes until golden and crispy.

No Whimpy Wednesday
Well, I must admit to having very little sleep yet again. One of our sweet furbabies is about to start sleeping downstairs. I love her dearly, but the girl doesn't stop moving...ever. She wakes up frequently throughout the night to itch, lick, move about her kennel, causing general raucous. She seems to be doing this a lot more these past few nights. So I was up nearly every hour.

Jason's alarm went off at 5:03 am for swim. I went ahead and got up, there was no point in pretending I could get any more sleep. I got both my weight and cardio done and over with at least. I did legs with focus on hamstrings, glutes, and calves. I did drop sets of 4 x 10 unless otherwise noted:

Alternating front lunge
Stiff-legged dead lifts (dumbbells)
Front leg elevated lunge (video)
Calf raises
Plie squats with low-end pulse
Rear leg slide back lunges (video, I did not put weights down)
Single leg calf raises - 3x10
Donkey kicks with weight - 2x18 (video)
Glute roll-ins with hip lift on ball - 8 roll-ins with hip lift, 16 hip lifts, 16 roll-ins
Inner thigh raise with ankle weights - 24 single, 24 high-end pulse, 24 single

I finished up with the last 3 combos from Kick Punch and Crunch and the abs from that workout as well (one of my faves). I am officially sore from arms down to legs.

Blog Advice
So I know that my blog is way past due for some serious remodeling. Before I just change things up, I want to get your thoughts and advice. Here are the things I am thinking about and why I am not sure about changing them:

1. Commenting tool - Blogger does not allow me to reply to each comment, I have to manually type in your names and urls (b/c I want to link back to you all). This is why I comment in groupings. I have looked at Disqus. Ideas? Suggestions?

2. About Me Page - Should I do an about me page or leave the blurb where it is? Do you all go to the About Me pages when they are separated out in their own tabs?

3. Blog Roll Page - Sort of the same as the About Me dilemma. I want everyone to see the blogs I love so that they may visit them as well. But, I want to add to my list and right now it's getting lengthy there on the side. Do you visit Blog Roll pages?

4. Recipes and Workouts
- I do think I need a recipes page by now. Would it be preferable to just link back to the original post or to pull the recipes out into their own pages? Same with workouts actually. Or should I only post workouts when they are rotations? Not sure how to handle workouts....hmmmm....

Stir Fry on Hump Day
Tonight ended up being stir fry. I let Jason do the work. We were out of any sort of pre-made sauce so he threw together a quick THOS (Tom Yum, Hoisen, OJ, Sesame) Stir-Fry Sauce. All ingredients are basically to taste and consistency.

THOS Stir-Fry Sauce
Ingredients:
Tom Yum (vegetarian)
Hoisen
OJ
Sesame oil
Rice wine vinegar
To taste: garlic, basil, chili powder, red pepper

Directions:
Whisk all ingredients together

There were many veggies harmed in the making. Frozen: green beans, broccoli, peas, and cauliflower. Fresh: purple cabbage and carrots. The protein was Quorn Chik'n Tenders.

This was served over brown rice.
