NuNaturals Winners for Valentine's Day

I know that most people are doing Valentine's Day related posts. Jason and I don't really celebrate Valentine's Day. It's sort of just another day. Every once in a while we will do something special like get dressed up and go to a fancy restaurant, but not this year. And that's ok with me.

Instead of a material gift, Jason joined me at spin class today. That was gift enough as cheesy as it might sound. It was nice working out beside him today since I probably wouldn't have seen him until after work otherwise.

And yes, spin classes are back on for the time being. I'll take advantage of them as often as I can while they last too. Then I guess we'll have an even more valid excuse for buying a spin bike for the house that we can both use. Maybe that will be a belated Valentine's Day gift to each other.

Another reason we're not really doing much for Valentine's Day is that right now the house is in major disarray. We have no heat upstairs as the heating and air unit has been removed. The whole system including duct work was in dire need of replacement. During the removal process, they had to do lots of cutting. So, everything is incredibly dirty as well. Not only is the heat and air unit pulled out and there is debris literally everywhere, the gym room is also still pulled apart.

So, our evening will really be spent trying to clean up debris and sanding and hopefully priming the gym room. We have guests arriving Saturday, so this really can't wait. I know you are all so jealous ;-)

While I had thought about trying to put together a nice, romantic dinner, it will likely end up being something fast and simple. I'm thinking veggie burgers and sweet potato fries. We can set aside another time to make a fancy dinner with a nice bottle of wine so I'm good with simple tonight.

As promised, for Valentine's Day, 4 of my readers will get a sweet gift courtesy of NuNaturals Stevia. I used the random number generator to pick my winners.

Workout Wednesday - Body Blaster Tabata

Happy Hump Day! I wanted to thank everyone for their comments on yesterday's post: Be Kinder to Your Body. Calories are Not the Enemy . It sounds like it resonated with many of you. Today I wanted to share a new workout with you. I've been working on interval workouts for some of my clients. I try to give them the most bang for their buck (time). I know that in an ideal world, we would all have time to do longer workouts. There would never be scheduling conflicts, sick husbands or kids, or sick us. In reality, workouts need to be effective and efficient. And they don't have to be lengthy to be effective and efficient either. There's no need to spend hours in a gym to get in a good workout. Interval workouts like HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training) or tabata, or even interval running are great ways to get in a fantastic workout in a short amount of time and have many benefits. You can read more about Tabata workouts  here . Piriformis Update & Grilled Veggie Salad

New Piriformis Exercises Today wasn't too terrible for a Monday. Of course, I did leave a little early. That always helps huh ;-) I had another round of physical therapy today. My PT has been really researching piriformis syndrome and found an interesting article that discusses the use of McKenzie Exercises - typically used for back pain. I have started adding in low back extensions (one of the exercises) but now have a whole new list of exercises to add into my workout rotations. But, if it helps, I'll do it. I also asked her about dry needling (thanks Sarena ), which is sort of similar to acupuncture, but is more about trigger point and intramuscular stimulation. And I'm glad I asked because the timing is uncanny. One of the doctor's in the clinic happens to be going to get certified this weekend. They both believe that I am a prime candidate for the procedure. So we'll see how that goes. Kind of scared because I hate hate hate needles. Have any of you tr
